How does start-up relief work?
During the start-up phase, the start-up relief ensures that the unit can initially start under unloaded pressure conditions.
With the Aeromat, this process takes place automatically. The valve remains open during the start-up phase and closes automatically as soon as the unit reaches a defined speed. The closing time can be adjusted to suit the system’s requirements.
The system can then build up to its normal operating pressure.
Why are compressors unloaded during start-up?
Any existing back pressure can increase the starting torque required. By unloading the compressor during the start-up phase, it can initially run up under more favourable pressure conditions.
