SAV-GDR combination, Type 53/132 – optionally with SBV

Integrates the SAV Type 53 N/H, GDR Type 132 and outlet section into a single unit – optionally supplemented by an SBV.

SAV-GDR Kombination Typ 53/132 + SBV

Combined regulation and shut-off

Combines the pressure regulation of the GDR Type 132 with the safety shut-off of the SAV Type 53 N/H in a single unit.

SAV-GDR combination Type 53/132: Pressure regulation and safety shut-off in a single unit

The SAV-GDR combination Type 53/132 combines the SAV Type 53 N/H safety shut-off valve, the GDR Type 132 gas pressure regulator and the outlet section into a single integrated unit. A safety relief valve can be added as an option.

The GDR Type 132 maintains a constant outlet pressure despite changes in inlet pressure and flow rate. The SAV Type 53 N/H protects downstream fittings against impermissible overpressure and/or underpressure. If a safety relief valve is fitted, it automatically releases gas from the system to be protected when the set response pressure is reached and closes again once the pressure has dropped sufficiently.

The unit can be supplied fully pre-assembled and pre-set. For the individual components, W2 documents their use with gases in accordance with DVGW Worksheet G260 and non-aggressive gases; special versions are available depending on the component.

Safety relief valve depending on version.

Integrated outlet section

Part of the combined design.

Pre-assembled & pre-set

Constant outlet pressure

GDR regulates in the event of changes in pressure and flow rate.

Protection against pressure deviations

SAV triggers in the event of overpressure and/or underpressure.

Advantages and versions of the SAV-GDR combination, Type 53/132

Regulation and shut-off combined

The GDR Type 132 handles pressure regulation, whilst the SAV Type 53 N/H protects downstream valves against impermissible overpressure and/or underpressure.

Unit prepared for installation

The combination can be supplied fully pre-assembled and pre-set. This means that essential assembly and adjustment work is carried out prior to delivery.

SBV as an optional addition

Depending on the version, a safety relief valve can be integrated. It opens automatically at the set response pressure and closes again once the pressure has dropped sufficiently.

Design and Function

Design and operation of the SAV-GDR combination, Type 53/132

The SAV-GDR combination Type 53/132 combines gas pressure regulation and safety shut-off in a single integrated unit. The interaction between the GDR Type 132, SAV Type 53 N/H and optional SBV enables the regulation of the outlet pressure as well as protection against impermissible pressure conditions.

SAV, GDR, outlet section and optional SBV

The SAV-GDR combination Type 53/132 combines the SAV Type 53 N/H safety shut-off valve, the GDR Type 132 gas pressure regulator and the outlet section into a single unit. The GDR consists of a control regulator, pressure reducer and actuator; depending on the operating range, either the DN or DH control regulators are used. For a pressure differential exceeding 1.5 bar, the SR pressure reducer is provided. The SAV comprises a measuring mechanism, actuator and control element, and features an integrated diaphragm rupture protection device. Optionally, the combination can be supplemented with a safety relief valve.

How the integrated functions work

The GDR Type 132 regulates the outlet pressure to the set value and compensates for changes in inlet pressure or flow rate via the control regulator and actuator. The resulting back pressure is fed back to the control regulator via the pulse line. At the same time, the SAV Type 53 N/H monitors the pressure to be protected. If the pressure exceeds the upper response pressure or falls below the lower response pressure, the SAV trips and closes the valve. If an SBV is integrated, it opens automatically at the set response pressure and releases gas; if the pressure falls below the closing pressure, it closes again.

Technical specification and enquiry regarding the SAV-GDR combination, Type 53/132

The following factors are particularly relevant for technical selection: inlet pressure, required outlet pressure, flow rate, medium, operating temperature, nominal diameter or connection, and the required SAV set pressures. Please also specify whether an SBV is required and which installation configuration should be taken into account.
