The W2 product range comprises valves for regulating, monitoring and safeguarding gas pressures. Depending on the application, a variety of gas pressure regulators, safety valves and combined solutions are available.

Gas valves for reliable gas pressure regulation

Gas-carrying systems place high demands on pressure regulation, operational safety and availability. Gas valves perform various functions in this context: they regulate the gas pressure, limit impermissible pressure conditions and protect downstream system components.

The choice of valve depends, amongst other things, on the inlet pressure, the desired outlet pressure, the flow rate, the type of gas and the required safety function.

How does gas pressure regulation work?

A gas pressure regulator reduces the existing inlet pressure to a specified outlet pressure. If the inlet pressure or gas consumption changes, the regulator reacts automatically and keeps the outlet pressure as constant as possible within its intended control range.

This ensures that downstream systems and processes are supplied with the required gas pressure.

What safety valves are used in gas systems?

In addition to the actual gas pressure regulation, additional safety valves may be required.

A safety shut-off valve (SAV) for gas interrupts the gas flow when a defined limit value is reached. A safety relief valve (SBV), on the other hand, allows for controlled pressure relief.

Gas pressure regulators, SAVs and SBVs thus perform different functions and can be combined with one another depending on the gas pressure regulation system.

Which gas pressure regulator or safety valve is suitable?

The choice of gas fitting suitable for a system depends on the specific control and safety requirements. Whilst gas pressure regulators provide a defined outlet pressure, SAV and SBV units perform additional safety functions.
