Regulating gas pressure and reliably safeguarding gas systems
W2 offers a range of gas valves for pressure regulation and safety in gas networks, gas pressure regulation systems and industrial gas applications.
A gas pressure regulator reduces the existing inlet pressure to the outlet pressure required by the downstream system. If the inlet pressure or gas consumption changes, the regulator adjusts its orifice size accordingly and stabilises the outlet pressure within its specified operating range.
In addition to the actual pressure regulation, additional safety functions may be required. Safety shut-off valves (SAV) interrupt the gas flow under defined limit conditions. Safety relief valves (SBV), on the other hand, enable controlled pressure relief.

Maintaining pressure reliably – relief and vacuum regulators
Not every pressure control task involves reducing a high inlet pressure. In many industrial and process plants, the aim is instead to maintain a defined inlet pressure or to prevent an impermissible vacuum.
Relief regulators open automatically when the pressure upstream of the valve reaches or exceeds the set point. This allows excess flow to be discharged and defined pressure conditions to be stabilised.
Vacuum regulators perform the opposite function and protect systems, vessels or compressors from impermissible low-pressure conditions.
For applications involving low pressures or small pressure differentials, precise technical design is particularly important. Factors such as the set point, medium, flow rate and existing pressure differential must be taken into account.
Control valves for industrial processes
In industrial process plants, it is often necessary to reliably control not only pressure, but also flow rate and temperature.
With its ALLO® control valves, W2 offers solutions for a variety of applications involving steam, gases and liquid media. The range includes control valves, self-acting pressure regulators and steam cooling systems.

Control valves
Control valves are actuated by an electric, pneumatic or hydraulic drive. They can be integrated into higher-level control loops and are suitable for the continuous control of industrial processes.
Self-acting pressure regulators
Self-acting pressure regulators utilise the energy of the process medium for control. This means that no additional external actuator is required for the actual control movement.
Steam cooling systems
In steam processes, it is often necessary to adjust both pressure and temperature to suit downstream processes. Steam cooling systems enable a controlled reduction in temperature for this purpose and can be combined with appropriate control valves.

Insulating flanges enable the electrical isolation of sections of pipework and can therefore make an important contribution to corrosion protection.
Using gas pressure to generate energy
The W2 gas expansion turbine enables existing pressure energy within gas pressure regulation systems to be utilised for electricity generation.
Instead of reducing gas pressure solely through conventional expansion processes, part of the available energy is harnessed mechanically and converted into electrical energy.
